Tom Brady, the greatest NFL player of all time, announced his retirement on Tuesday. But this time, he says he's retiring "for good," after initially retiring in 2022 but later returning to play one more season.
No one in the history of the league has won like Brady. He's the only ever player to have seven Super Bowl rings. None of the 32 franchises has as many rings as him. His desire to win always surpassed everything.
Tedy Bruschi, his former teammate and a linebacker for the New England Patriots who won three Super Bowls alongside Brady, is now an analyst for ESPN. During his appearance on "Get Up," Bruschi shared a story about Brady's incessant desire to win everything.
"I think the best story I have about Tom Brady's addiction to winning is the one when we were in the Pro Bowl together after our third championship, after we beat the Eagles," Bruschi said.

"And that's when you're at the Pro Bowl. I think it was myself, Richard Seymour, Adam Vinatieri, Larry Izzo, and Tom looks at all of us and says, 'You know, no one's ever won three in a row'. I still had confetti on the bottom of my cleats. And we're looking at Tom like, 'Dude, we just had the parade, man. Can we just go out here?'
"It was always about the next one. But that was the addiction. That was him always looking to win at everything. And that's gone."
To win as much as Brady did over his career, you need a strong dedication to the game. It's not surprising to hear any of these stories following a 23-year career.
Tom Brady retires: What next for the greatest quarterback of all time?
Brady now enters a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox to become an analyst during their NFL broadcasts. The average $37.5 million per year is the highest for any NFL commentator.
He divorced Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen during the 2022 season and the couple has two kids. The quarterback also has another child from a previous relationship.
There's a long list of options for him to do in his free time now, but because of his Fox deal, we can be sure he's going to be on our televisions once the new season kicks in.
