Jahan Dotson is no longer with the Washington Commanders. Instead, he will be with arguably their biggest rival. According to Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired the receiver in a trade on Thursday. Fans and analysts jumped to their own conclusions about the move, but at least one Eagles star is on board.

Reacting to the news on Twitter/X, Eagles cornerback Darius Slay gave a nod to the general manager who got the deal done.

"(Eyeball emoji) howie working!!!!" Slay posted.

The trade sent Dotson and a fifth-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and two seventh-round picks. Overall, trades between rivals are a spectacle by themselves. They are rare, and when they do happen, it usually takes months before any football is played.

However, in this case, the trade was made mere weeks away from the start of the regular season. The trade sets up an additional storyline going into the race for the NFC East. Dotson will face his former team twice this season, setting up for an intense showdown.

The first showdown will be in Week 11 and then again in Week 16.

While Dotson has plenty of time to prepare for those two games, he will be in a time crunch to move and learn his new playbook before the Eagles' first game in Brazil on September 6.
