Eagles vs Buccaneers box score, stats and summary feat. Baker Mayfield's dominance and Philly's discombobulated offense

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have looked hot to start the season while the Philadelphia Eagles have racked up wins but struggled to get the offense to click. Jalen Hurt, in particular, has failed to impress, but with Saquon Barkley in the mix of things, the Eagles have pulled through after three weeks of football. Against Tampa Bay, the Eagles faced more than a few problems against this Todd Bowles defense.

Baker Mayfield had the first TD of the afternoon to Mike Evans on a two-yard pass and the extra point was good to take the Bucs to 7-0 for an early start. Mayfield kept the offense going, ripping apart the Eagles secondary early on, finding his receivers on multiple first downs. Mayfield’s second TD was to Trey Palmer with the Bucs offense looking near unstoppable. The bottom line: Baker Mayfield had his way with this Philly defense with a first-down feast.

Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts’ start wasn’t all that hot on his first few plays. The Eagles had to punt twice in the first quarter - a damning indictment of the offense. They went scoreless in the first. What's more, Philly had its first first down with 6:33 left in the second. The Eagles' first TD came off a Hurts throw to Parris Campbell on a one-yard catch. Not much to talk about with this Philly offense but they got the ball to start the second half.

Interestingly, the Bucs had two sacks in the first three games. They surpassed that total early in the fourth.

All said and done, the Eagles were up against it without their top two receivers and with Lane Johnson inactive. Not too many lessons to be learned apart from the fact that the Eagles need to cut down on their turnovers. Philly will face the Browns, Giants and Bengals after the bye week.

The final score? 33-16 in the Bucs' favor.
