Mark Andrews will want to forget what he did on Sunday, but at least one person will not let him. During the Divisional Round matchup against the Buffalo Bills, the tight end committed two fatal fourth-quarter errors that eventually led to the Baltimore Ravens' 25-27 defeat in snowy Orchard Park.

First, it was losing a fumble when linebacker Terrel Bernard punched the ball out of him off of a catch. Then, on what turned out to be the final proper drive of the game, it was dropping a two-point conversion with no one close by to stop him.

Emmanuel Acho was one of those many who were aghast at the last one, so much so that he claimed that Andrews, who finished with five catches for 61 yards, had permanently damaged Lamar Jackson's reputation:

"People will slander Lamar Jackson, bring up Lamar Jackson’s playoff history and bring up his turnovers, ignore them. Mark Andrews cost them the game.

"Lamar took his team 88 yards down the field in 8 plays & threw a dot to Mark Andrews to tie the game."

The loss spoiled a strong showing for the quarterback, who completed 18 of his 25 passing attempts for 254 yards and two touchdowns against an interception.

Lamar Jackson, HC John Harbaugh react to Mark Andrews after costly fumble

After the game, Lamar Jackson did his best to defend Mark Andrews, who has been his primary passing target ever since both of them came off the board in the 2018 Draft. He deflected some of the blame onto himself:

"We're a team. In the first half, I had two costly turnovers… So, it's a team effort out there. He's been busting his behind. He's been making plays out there for us.”"

Head coach John Harbaugh also had nothing but words of encouragement for his man, crediting him with taking the team this far:

"There’s nobody that has more heart, cares more, and fights more than mark..We wouldn’t be here without (him)… Mark will handle this fantastically because he’s a high-character person, a tough person and a good person. Proud of him like I’m proud of all the guys."

Andrews finishes the 2024-25 playoffs with 7 receptions for a career-high 88 yards and four rushing attempts for eight yards.
