San Francisco 49ers linebacker De'Vondre Campbell sparked outrage on Friday morning after his actions during Thursday night's loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Per coach Kyle Shanahan, Campbell refused to play when he was asked to go into the game in the third quarter. He then walked off the field in the middle of the game.
On Friday morning, Emmanuel Acho addressed Campbell's actions on FS1's "The Facility". Acho didn't hold back on his thoughts about the linebacker, going as far as to call him a "traitor". He said that his decision to not play hindered his team's ability to win the game.
"De'Vondre Campbell, I suggest that he is a traitor. I suggest that he is a double agent. I suggested De'Vondre Campbell is something like Judas. You sat at the table, but you were plotting the 49ers death... The Niners are a team, historically, an organization of toughness. This isn't just my word. These are players who are lifted by their actions... all you got, De'Vondre Campbell, is a bruised ego."

Emmanuel Acho then talked about all of the trials and tribulations that San Francisco 49ers players have been through this season. He said that not being the starter in Thursday night's game essentially didn't give him the right to give up on his team.

"That's all you got. Players got shot, players got broken bones. Players got torn ligaments. Players lost children and all you got is a bruise, a bruised ego, double agent, traitor. You plotted this. You playing... Who'd you think you were? You didn't think you were Fred Warner. Did you? You didn't think you were Dre Greenlaw. Did you? You knew you were keeping their seat warm. You're the placeholder, but quit on your team in the middle of a must-win game. Traitor to me," Emmanuel Acho sa
Campbell had started 12 of the San Francisco 49ers' 13 games this season before Thursday night due to Dre Greenlaw's injury. The latter returned which pushed Campbell back on the depth chart which he clearly wasn't happy about.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed De'Vondre Campbell's exit
After Thursday night's loss to the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed the abrupt exit of linebacker De'Vondre Campbell. Shanahan was peppered with questions from reporters in his postgame media appearance about the situation.
After taking several questions and then being asked if he had lost the locker room, Kyle Shanahan was blunt with his response, insisting that Campbell was the only player who had quit on him and that he wasn't going to talk about him anymore.
"That's somebody who doesn't want to play football. It's pretty simple. I think our team and myself I know how we feel about that, so. I don't think we need to talk about him anymore," Kyle Shanahan told reporters.
At this point, it wouldn't be surprising if the San Francisco 49ers decided to part ways with Campbell.
