On Friday, ESPN will premiere a 30-for-30 on the New York Sack Exchange, featuring former NY Jets defensive lineman, Mark Gastineau.
Before the documentary airs, ESPN released a snippet of Gastineau's awkward and intense encounter with former NFL quarterback Brett Favre at a memorabilia show a year ago.
As Favre looked to shake Gastineau's hand, Gastineau confronted Favre about hurting his feelings for allowing former New York Giants defensive lineman Michael Strahan to break his single-season sack record.
Here's part of the back-and-forth conversation between the two:

“I AM GONNA GET MY SACK BACK,” Gastineau said.
“You’d probably hurt me,” Favre said.
“I DON’T CARE. You hurt me,” Gastineau said.
Gastineau set the NFL record for most sacks in a single season with the Jets in 1984 with 22 sacks and held the record until 2001. Strahan had 21.5 sacks in 2001 with one more game left in the regular season.
Facing the Green Bay Packers, Strahan rushed Favre, and Favre, without hesitation, dove to the ground, allowing Strahan to record one of the easiest sacks in NFL history.
The video went viral on X and fans had mixed reactions. Some Jets fans pointed out how pathetic it was for a former NY Jets legend to mishandle himself, with fans saying Gastineau should let it go.
"The Jets making themselves look pathetic doesn’t have any end in sight," a fan tweeted.
"Nah that’s ridiculous dude was genuinely pissed about that. I thought he was just gonna be messing around w him smh," a fan tweeted.
"Lmfao this is pathetic. Makes sense for a Jet," a fan tweeted.
While some fans weren't in support of Gastineau, others were. Some fans understand how frustrated Gastineau feels, with his record that he worked his entire life being "handed" to Strahan.
Others pointed out that they liked seeing Favre called out.
"Gastineau is 100% right, even if he should let it go at this point. Records should never be broken like that. Was so bush league," a fan tweeted.
"As a Giants fan, i was grateful Favre gave Strahan the recordc... never thought about how it would affect Gastineau. now i kinda feel bad," a fan tweeted.
"Nothing makes me happier than to see that fraud [Favre] get confronted," a fan tweeted.
TJ Watt tied Michael Strahan's single-season sack record in 2021
Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher TJ Watt tied Michael Strahan's 20-year sack record in 2021. Watt did so by playing in one less game as he played in just 15 games during the 2021 season recording 22.5 sacks.
Records are meant to be broken, and with the NFL season having 17 games now, Watt's record will likely be broken soon. Even if Favre didn't dive for Strahan, Mark Gastineau's record would have eventually been broken which it was again in 2021.
