Ex-Cowboys All-Pro “praying” Dallas trades for $100,000,000 WR - Source: Imagn

Former Dallas Cowboys All-Pro receiver Dez Bryant believes Jerry Jones needs to make a move to acquire a receiver. The Cowboys offense faltered once again in a 47-9 home loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

It was a stunning defeat for Dallas who fell to 3-3 on the season. The Cowboys have been blown out twice this season, both at home, having lost 44-19 to the New Orleans Saints.

Following the blowout defeat to the Lions, Bryant took to social media to call for his former team to trade for Amari Cooper.

"I pray Dallas Cowboys get Amari Cooper back," Bryant wrote on X.

Cooper played for the Cowboys from 2018 until 2021, signing a $100 million extension in March 2020, before getting traded to the Cleveland Browns in March 2022.

However, with the Browns off to a 1-5 start, Cooper's name has come up in trade talks, and he could be moved before the deadline. If he gets traded, Bryant is hoping Dallas tries to re-acquire him so that he can spark the offense.

This season, Cooper has recorded 24 receptions for 250 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Amari Cooper not thinking about Cowboys trade rumors

Amari Cooper is entering the final year of his contract, so his name has been involved in trade rumors. Yet, ahead of the Browns' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Cooper said that he isn't thinking about possibly getting traded.

"I’m not thinking about that," Cooper said to CantonRep.com. "I’m not thinking about us not winning some games. I’m thinking about us winning some games. So that doesn’t even cross my mind."

Cooper also said that he's yet to request a trade, as he wants to help turn the Browns' season around.

"I mean, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do, to jump off the ship when it’s sinking, I guess I would say," Cooper said. "I don’t even consider myself that type of person — that’s what people who aren’t dedicated to, that’s what people who aren’t committed to. Things get hard sometimes.
"You just have to fight your way through it. I’m a fighter. I know the guys on his team, they’re fighters and that’s what fighters do until the end, fight until the end. So that’s what we’re going to do."

However, after Cleveland lost for the fifth time this season, the Browns are very unlikely to make the playoffs.
