When the Dallas Cowboys announced Brian Schottenheimer as their new head coach, the team's former star WR Dez Bryant didn’t mince words at all.
Taking to X, he tweeted a five-word message:
"Somebody is getting sabotaged. Smh."

Before the announcement, there were rumors flying around that owner, Jerry Jones, was considering the team's former DB, Deion Sanders for the job. Instead, the team hired Schottenheimer, who has worked as the Offensive Coordinator in Dallas for the past three years.
Since Schottenheimer will take up the head coaching role for the first time. However, his hiring is quite questionable.
Meanwhile, Deion Sanders has proven that he can turn teams around during his time with the Colorado Buffaloes. Thus, as per Bryant's tweet, the All-Pro WR feels the Cowboys missed a big opportunity.
Jerry Jones will officially introduce Brian Schottenheimer on Monday. With the Cowboys' Super Bowl drought, the pressure will be high on the new head coach to turn things around, which former Cowboys HC, Mike McCarthy could not. After McCarthy's contract expired on Jan. 14, he was quietly shown the exit door, four years after he joined the team.
Reasons why the Dallas Cowboys picked Brian Schottenheimer
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones strongly supports Brian Schottenheimer. He feels Schottenheimer has a good relationship with QB Dak Prescott and his work with the team’s offense.
"He ain't Brian no more," Jones told ESPN. "He is now known as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys."
But the numbers tell a different story.
Last season, the Cowboys’ offense scored only 20.6 points per game, which is down from 29.9 the year before.
As Schottenheimer starts his first head coaching role with the Cowboys, the pressure is on to end the Cowboys' Super Bowl drought of 29 years.
That said, Brian Schottenheimer will follow in the footsteps of his late father, Marty Schottenheimer.
First as a player, Schottenheimer Sr. was a linebacker for teams like the Buffalo Bills, Boston Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Baltimore Colts.
After his playing career ended, he worked as the head coach for several NFL teams, including the New York Giants, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, and San Diego Chargers.
Marty Schottenheimer passed away on February 8, 2021.
