The Kansas City Chiefs are a juggernaut on paper but haven't exactly looked like the team that had the league by its throat in the playoffs last year. A third Super Bowl win in five years means the Chiefs will always be the team with a target on their backs as long as they have Patrick Mahomes under center.

This year, the Chiefs are 11-1 heading into Week 14 and have resumed their quest to take full control of the AFC. However, questions have been raised over whether their run is sustainable, considering how many of their games have come down to one possession.

On Monday's episode of "The Facility," former NFL quarterback turned analyst Chase Daniel highlighted the fact that while the Chiefs may not have gotten lucky per se, there is certainly something off about the reigning Super Bowl champions.

“I don’t believe in luck but this is getting really fricking weird. If you go back and look at the season as a whole, they’re 11-1. They have nine one-possession games. In five of those, they’ve won on the last play of the game. This last one was the second-to-last play of the game," Daniel said.

He then pointed out all the instances where the Chiefs have had games go right down to the wire.

"Week 1, incomplete pass to Isaiah Likely vs the Ravens. By a toe. Week 2, Butker’s field goal vs the Bengals. Week 9 Hunt, overtime run, TD vs the Bucs. Week 10 blocked field goal vs the Broncos. Week 12, Shrader, backup kicker makes field goal vs Panthers. Week 13, Aidan O’Connell fumble."

Daniel added that it's "very, very weird" that this is happening with the Chiefs but sent Patrick Mahomes and co. a warning, saying that the Buffalo Bills are just one game behind them in the race for the No. 1 seed.

The Chiefs clinched a spot in the playoffs with a 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday. The Bills clinched the AFC East with a 39-10 primetime beatdown of the San Francisco 49ers, while the Steelers (9-3) and Houston Texans (8-5) are also within a shout of winning their divisions.

The Los Angeles Chargers (8-4), Baltimore Ravens (8-5) and Denver Broncos (8-5) are currently in the running for the rest of the spots whereas the Colts, Dolphins, Bengals and Browns face a race against time to play meaningful football in January.
