The New York Jets are entering a new era under coach Aaron Glenn after landing the former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator on Wednesday. With one major question answered, Glenn and the Jets front office had to address their second major question of the offseason: what to do with Aaron Rodgers?
After an abysmal 2024 campaign for Rodgers and the Jets, many were wondering what would be next for both sides. Looking to get ahead of the curve, Aaron Glenn doesn't want to waste any time getting to the bottom of the Rodgers situation. On Monday afternoon, Glenn addressed his feelings on Rodgers and his status with the Jets.
"We've already texted Aaron Rodgers," Glenn stated. "This is not about Aaron Rodgers, folks. This is about the roster. ... Listen, everybody is under a microscope. That's just what it is, so we're going to do the best we can to make sure we build the best roster."
Looking ahead, former NFL quarterback and league insider Dan Orlovsky offered his thoughts on Rodgers' status on Monday's episode of NFL Live.

"I think you're telling Aaron Rodgers, 'You could have 'til the Super Bowl. And by the Super Bowl you have to tell us if you're playing or not.' You're trying to take control of it (if you're Aaron Glenn)."
Orlovsky said that a two-week window until the Super Bowl is more than enough time for Rodgers to offer insight on his status for next season.
Jets land coach, general manager entering offseason
New York wasted no time pairing Aaron Glenn with a new general manager after parting ways with Joe Douglas during the regular season following a loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 17.
Phil Savage served as the interim general manager, and, on Saturday, they found his replacement to lead the team into the offseason. New York named Darren Mougey as their next general manager, as revealed by Adam Schefter.
Mougey spent 13 years in the Denver Broncos front office and will now lead New York alongside Aaron Glenn. The pair will work together to navigate the team's quarterback situation this offseason as Aaron Rodgers reaches a decision on his NFL future.
