The New York Jets have been the butt of headlines all year long, mostly for all the wrong reasons. The Jets may have given the impression that they've turned a corner in recent weeks, but the drama appears to be following the franchise off the field.
The week started with Netflix dropping Aaron Rodgers' 'Enigma,' taking fans behind his ayahuasca retreat in Peru. Rodgers then had a very public verbal spat with ESPN's Ryan Clark. Now, NFL insider Dianna Russini's bombshell report is the latest to strike at the hearts of Jets fandom.
In a report on The Athletic, Russini detailed how then-Jets GM Joe Douglas told the Denver Broncos that Woody Johnson did not want to green-light a trade for Jerry Jeudy because he felt the wide receiver’s player rating in Madden wasn’t high enough.

Former Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky took notice of Russini's report on X but stopped well short of endorsing it.
"Lol this can’t be real life lol," Orlovsky wrote.
Jeudy eventually ended up being traded to the Cleveland Browns. The franchise then handed him a massive 3-year, $58 extension, as per ESPN. The Broncos and Browns battled it out a few weeks ago, and Jeudy finished the game with nine catches for a career-high 235 yards with a touchdown. In the process, he broke Terrell Owens' 16-year-old record for most receiving yards in a game against a former team.
Woody Johnson's New York Jets staring at massive turning point
Forbes recently released a list of the 400 richest people in the country, a list which sees Woody Johnson at #388 with a net worth of $3.4 billion. All that money has not quite led to excellent decision-making with the Jets, though.
The franchise fired Robert Saleh midway through the season and followed that up by letting GM Joe Douglas go a few weeks later. Uncertainty also surrounds the future of Aaron Rodgers, who has been cryptic about running it back with the franchise. There have also been rumors that star WR Garrett Wilson could ask for a trade if the franchise is in turmoil next year.
The Jets have officially begun the process of interviewing GMs, a process led by a man they fired a few years ago — Mike Tannenbaum.
