Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III dropped a major nickname for Luka Doncic after the Slovenian player faced his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, for the first time since the infamous trade that sent him to Los Angeles in exchange for Anthony Davis. Doncic posted a 19-point, 15-rebound and 12-assist triple-double on Tuesday, leading the Lakers to a 107-99 win over his old squad.

After the game was over, RGIII took to social media to compare Doncic to teammate LeBron James with his new nickname. He even claimed Doncic could go all the way to the championship if he keeps up that type of performance throughout the season.

"Luka Broncic can certainly win an NBA Championship playing like that," the former player turned analyst tweeted on Wednesday.

Although LeBron James led the team in scoring with 27 points, Doncic's triple-double propelled the Lakers to victory. He didn't have the best night shooting (6-from-17 from the field), but still found ways to impact the match and helped the Lakers secure the 35th win of the season.

They're now 4th in the Western Conference standings, 2.0 games away from the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets, both with a 38-20 record. The Lakers are heating up at the right time and having Luka on the roster raises the bar for the Purple and Gold, as the former NFL star tweeted.

Robert Griffin III makes prediction about NFL potentially banning "tush push"

On Monday, before giving Luka Doncic a new nickname, Robert Griffin III gave his verdict on a potential "tush push" ban from the NFL. The Green Bay Packers formally proposed the league to ban the play, as they consider it unfair for the rest of the team and an "automatic" play for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The former Washington and Baltimore quarterback had a strong response to this proposal, taking to X/Twitter again to share his thoughts.

"The Tush Push will never be banned."

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said he was "almost offended" since opposing teams say the play is so easy for the Super Bowl LIX champions, not knowing that it takes a lot of practice to master the play and noting that it has brought several benefits for the team's offense.

Robert Griffin III has taken a side in this debate and it doesn't seem like he'll change his mind anytime soon.
