The NFL quarterback conversation has a new focal point: Jameis Winston's polarizing career. Robert Griffin III pulled back the curtain on how media personalities discuss the Cleveland Browns' signal-caller.
RG3, a former NFL quarterback turned media personality, has insider knowledge of quarterback dynamics. Jameis Winston, drafted first overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015, has been attracting debate throughout his career.
During the Pro Football Football Show on December 6, RG3 shared a perspective about Jameis Winston. His comments landed against the Browns' challenging 3-9 season backdrop:
"See, sometimes, my old colleagues on TV, when they bring up Jameis, they're kind of laughing at him. It's now become something where the Browns are 3-9, and the whole show is the Jameis Show," said RG3.

Jameis Winston's NFL journey tells a story of potential and struggle. From his Heisman Trophy-winning season at Florida State in 2013 to his current role with the Browns, he's thrown 152 touchdowns and 106 interceptions in ten seasons.
Kurt Warner defends Jameis Winston
NFL legend Kurt Warner offered a defense of Winston's abilities on Bark Tank's Episode on December 6:
"I've always believed this, you know, when I watch him, and the majority of good plays that he makes, and the kind of throws and the things that we saw for the majority of the game last night, says, without a doubt, he's one of the 32 best quarterbacks that we have in the world," said Warner.
Winston's current season stats tell an intriguing story. He's completed 61.3% of pass attempts for 1,763 yards, with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He's also added a rushing touchdown to his resume.
The quarterback addressed his notorious turnover reputation head-on:
"I just had some unfortunate turnovers, and turnovers, they can change the outcome of a football game," Winston said via Akron Beacon Journal on December 6. "So talking to them, just, 'Man, Jameis, keep focusing on your decisions. Keep on playing, Jameis. Don't let that define you.' And that's what I'm doing right now in my career."
For context, Jameis Winston isn't even close to the NFL's interception record. Brett Favre holds that distinction with 336 career interceptions, followed by George Blanda.
As the Browns approach the 2025 offseason, Winston's performance raises critical questions. With his leadership and occasional brilliance, he might just convince the team to give him another shot as a starter.
