The future of Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets hangs in a delicate balance. Former quarterback Chase Daniel's statement suggests a clean break might be the best path forward for new head coach Aaron Glenn.
Daniel, a former Super Bowl champion with the Saints, appeared on Thursday's edition of "The Facility" show and addressed the potential dynamic between Glenn and Rodgers with candor.
"I could not feel stronger about Aaron Glenn and Aaron Rodgers not being together," Daniel said. "He needs to completely move on from Aaron Rodgers... I think he would completely undermine Glenn as a first year head coach.
"You only get one shot at this thing, and when you're a leader in the locker room, like that, when you've been around so much, and when you've been in this in the media, Aaron Glenn's first time head coach, if Aaron Glenn wants to put his stamp on this team. He cannot have Aaron Rodgers in that locker room."

The Jets have missed the playoffs for 14 consecutive seasons. Rodgers, after returning from an Achilles injury, completed 63.0% of his passes for 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns in 2024, but the team finished 5-12.
"One Shot to Make a Difference": The Glenn-Aaron Rodgers dilemma
Not everyone agrees with Chase Daniel's perspective. Chris McMonigle from WFAN argues that Aaron Rodgers could help Aaron Glenn establish credibility. The incoming head coach faces a complex decision with significant implications for the franchise's future.
"This is about making the playoffs. This is about having a winning season," McMonigle said Thursday.
He suggested that Rodgers could provide stability and veteran leadership for Glenn's first season.
The Jets' quarterback situation remains uncertain. With no clear successor and limited draft position, Glenn must carefully navigate the Rodgers question. The team's new general manager, yet to be hired, will play a crucial role in this decision.
