Mike Tomlin and Russell Wilson have taken things slow over the last two months as Wilson has battled an injury. However, the time for taking things slow might be nearly over. Tomlin has opened the door to Wilson getting his Steelers debut against former NFC rival Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero has reported that Wilson is expected to get first-team reps and as a result, is seemingly in line to start in Week 7. Some fans are excited to see the former Seattle Seahawks star once again, but others appear to be completely against the move.
"F**k this team dude," one said.

"Just a terrible move. Fields has that team rolling," another said.

"This is so stupid Fields has been playing just fine," another disagreed.
Some fans weren't so quick to dismiss the move toward Wilson, but they were openly questioning it.
"I’ll never question Mike Tomlin but this is wild," one fan questioned.
"WTFFFF," another gasped.
"why…" another wondered.
Wilson is set to face the second-ranked defense in the NFL in yards per game, per ESPN. The New York Jets also have the second-ranked unit in passing yards per game, setting Wilson up for a potentially difficult challenge in his first start. The team's defense most recently shut down Sam Darnold in London, holding him to 179 passing yards and an interception.

An NFC-rooted rivalry could wrap up in the AFC. With Aaron Rodgers nearing the end of his career and Russell Wilson in the last year of his deal, there might not be many chances left to see the two veterans square off.
According to Stathead, the battle will give Wilson a chance to match Rodgers in their matchup history in the regular season, with Wilson currently at 3-4 against Rodgers.
The quarterbacks faced off in two memorable games from the 2010s. The 2014 NFC Championship saw one of the least likely comebacks in NFL history. Per Pro Football Reference, down 19-7 with 10:53 left in the fourth quarter, Wilson led the Seahawks on a 21-3 run to win the game.
The other notable matchup was the "Fail Mary" game on September 24, 2012. With officials on strike, Russell Wilson converted a hail mary pass to win a regular season contest on Monday Night Football. It was dubbed the "Fail Mary" game because the replacement referees were indecisive on whether it was a touchdown, leading to one of the most controversial finishes in NFL history.
Will the next Aaron Rodgers tilt against Russell Wilson get an equally memorable conclusion?
