The Buffalo Bills improved their offense before the trade deadline ended by acquiring Nyheim Hines from the Indianapolis Colts.
On Nov. 1, 2022, the Colts traded Hines to the Bills in return for running back Zack Moss and a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2023 draft.

Hines has only 36 rushing yards this season but is more involved in the passing game as he has 188 receiving yards thus far.

Former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee spoke to Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane about what prompted him to trade for Hines.
McAfee said on the "Pat McAfee Show:"
"What did you see in Nyheim Hines that made you pull the trigger? You said you had talked a little bit with Carolina about Christian McCaffrey. That conversation just didn't come to fruition. What was it about Nyheim Hines that you thought, like would fit your offense? And why did you go get them, and f**k you for that?"
Beane responded to McAfee, saying that they've always had their eyes on Hines and contacted the Colts again for his availability.
Beane said:
"Well, I respectfully appreciate the f**k you there. But also, he's a guy that I've had my eye on before. We've checked into him just like you know you check in the guys at different times. A couple of summers ago, I believe it was during the COVID summer, I really didn't feel like we had that piece in the backfield, you know, for us, for Josh as an outlet player."
Beane added:
"And so we looked and you know, at the time the Colts were not interested. We checked back another time, but things change it at various times in this league for different reasons.
"And so, you know, again, this was one of those we checked into it the last minute before the deadline. And a lot of respect for Chris Ballard and how he does things. And the timing was better for them, for us."
The rich get richer as the Buffalo Bills add another playmaker in Nyheim Hines

The Buffalo Bills have been one of the best teams in football this season.
They currently lead the league in point differentials at +105. They are 6-1 and are in first place in the AFC East.
Buffalo is stacked from offense to defense to special teams. Their backfield is led by running back Devin Singletary, who had a career-high 870 rushing yards and seven touchdowns last season.
Adding Hines gives the Bills a more versatile one-two punch in the backfield.
Hines is very productive in the passing game and has 1,725 career receiving yards, 1,205 rushing yards, 1,125 return yards and 19 total touchdowns.
The Bills play the New York Jets this Sunday and there is a chance Nyheim Hines could be active.
