Falcons star Michael Penix Jr.'s fiancee pens 5-word message after catching Ohio State vs Notre Dame in action

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is just one year removed from playing in the College Football National Championship game with the Washington Huskies. While the Huskies didn't get into the College Football Playoffs this year, his fiancée Olivia Carter reminisced about last year's big game.

On Monday night, Olivia Carter posted a photo on her Instagram of an image inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The stadium, which is home to the Atlanta Falcons, also hosted the National Championship game on Monday. She wrote a caption on the Instagram Story saying 'Hello' to the National Championship game once again, a nod to Penix Jr.'s big game last year.

The Ohio State Buckeyes hoisted the trophy on Monday night in a 34-23 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

At the start of 2024, Olivia Carter was cheering on her boyfriend the Washington Huskies quarterback. By the end of the year, Penix Jr. was not only named the starting quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons, but the couple also got engaged.

Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. recapped his rookie season

Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons with the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was drafted just weeks after the Falcons signed quarterback Kirk Cousins to a lucrative four-year deal worth $180 million.

Penix Jr. was expected to back up Cousins for the foreseeable future and get accustomed to the NFL. The rookie quarterback was named the starting quarterback after Cousins' struggle continued through Week 15.

Last week, the 24-year-old quarterback recapped his 2024 NFL season in a post on Instagram. He shared photos of his time on the field with the Atlanta Falcons including a photo of a pregame hug with his fiancee Olivia Carter.

In five games, three of which he started, the quarterback threw for 775 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 11 yards and one touchdown.
