On Sunday, the Washington Commanders pulled off one of the greatest comebacks of the 2024 season.
In an important game against the Philadelphia Eagles, which would put them in excellent shape for a playoff berth with a win, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels threw five touchdown passes, including one with less than 10 seconds remaining, to come back from 27-14 in the fourth quarter and take victory number 10 in 2024.
However, the final play had many Eagles fans complaining about a perceived miss by the officials. Right tackle Cornelius Lucas seemed to move a few milliseconds prior to the snap, which, if called by the referees, would cancel the game-winning touchdown for Washington and put them further away from the end zone.
Fans were livid with the no-call:

"Not being that guy cause Philly deserves to lose, but [the] right tackle's false start was plain and obvious, no?", said one fan.
"Thank you to the refs for rigging the outcome. It's B's, an embarrassment to the league", a second said.
"That was definitely a false start, though" said a third fan.
With the win, the Commanders can still win the NFC East if they win the remaining two games and the Eagles lose the next two. However, Philadelphia's schedule makes it extremely unlikely. Washington will lock the playoff berth with a Week 17 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football.
Jayden Daniels' majestic performance fuels the Commanders' comeback
It wasn't a perfect exhibition by the Commanders, who committed five turnovers (two interceptions and three fumbles) on their way to the win. However, the rookie quarterback led a great game-winning drive in the fourth quarter to end the Eagles' winning streak.
Apart from the two interceptions, Daniels finished the game with 24 completed passes out of 39 attempts, 258 passing yards and five touchdowns. He also added 81 rushing yards in nine carries.
The Eagles missed Jalen Hurts for the majority of the game. The quarterback suffered a concussion in the first half and did not return. Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett took over, but had a disappointing game.
