Josh Allen and the Bills lost to the Texans in Week 5 to fall to 3-2, but it was a possible concussion for the star quarterback that dominated the post-game discussion. In the fourth quarter, with Buffalo trailing 20-17, he tried to make a play but the pass rush got to him. Even though he got the ball away, Allen was off balance as he fell to the floor and slammed his head on the ground.
It immediately looked serious as he looked to be motionless because of the impact and he was taken to the medical tent. But with the game on the line, he was allowed to return. That didn't do them much good, as Houston went on to win the game.
Fans were irate that Josh Allen had been allowed back into the game after evaluation even though an eye test showed that he had probably suffered a concussion. They took to X/Twitter to express their frustrations.

Fans continued to worry about Josh Allen's health and slammed the NFL for dropping the ball on this issue. Here are some more reactions from social media.
"Josh Allen was clearly concussed and even unconscious on that play today…but they get away with him coming back in 1 play later lol. Concussion protocol in NFL is selective" - wrote one commenter.
"Bills QB Josh Allen concussion on a big hit where his head bounces off the ground and Allen remains on the ground while medical staff comes out. Bills say nothing to see here and NFL acts blind" - added another.
"I do not see how Josh Allen is allowed back in that game. Even if he is tested on sideline delayed concussion can come at any point after the event. You only have to see that video to know he probably shouldn’t have gone back in based on how hard he hit his head" - another fan posted.
Josh Allen and Bills lose ground to Texans and Chiefs in AFC standings
Despite the NFL allowing Josh Allen to return to the game against the Texans, the Bills lost and fell to a 3-2 record. Both teams entered with a 3-1 on the win-loss column and with this victory, Houston is now second in the AFC standings right behind the Chiefs, who are 4-0. If New Orleans can defeat Kansas City on Monday Night Football, the Texans will be tied at the top.
Buffalo could have had the same opportunity too if they secured a victory in this match. Instead, they have now lost two on the bounce to two AFC teams who were in the postseason last year. They are now tied with the Ravens, who began this season with two straight losses.
Even the Dolphins, who won against the Patriots earlier in the day are just a game behind them. The Jets lost against the undefeated Vikings, but they are also a win away from matching the Bills.
On top of that, now Buffalo has to worry about whether their star quarterback will be out for an extended period due to a concussion. It was not a good day for the Bills.
