The Houston Texans' running back Joe Mixon was fined by the NFL. Reportedly, the NFL star was slapped for commenting about the officiating after losing the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the divisional playoff matchup on Sunday, the Texans played against the Chiefs, where the latter registered a win 23-14 and advanced to the AFC championship title game.

On Wednesday, Mixon was fined $25,000. The Texans star shared a post about the bizarre fine on his X (formerly Twitter) account, asking fans to call it out as he claimed he was fined for something he "didn’t even say." Mixon wrote:

"So let me get this straight NFL fines me 25k for something I didn’t even say. Call them out for it, and they response was fine me AGAIN for something that’s not even a violation without even rescinding the first one. Where’s the accountability? Just respect the players. Cold 🌎"

Fans in the comment section came forward to support Mixon and commented in his favor.

"The union needs to step in," a fan wrote.
"They are doing you dirty man and they know it too @nflcommish," another fan said.

Meanwhile, some reflected their disappointment with the NFL.

"NFL is losing me as a fan. It used to be my favorite sport for several decades. But now I'm very close to moving the NBA at the top of my passion list. Followed by MLB and then the NFL. And I don't even like the current landscape of baseball. I do love the Houston Texans though!!" one fan added.
"NFL not even trying to hide its Chiefs bias at this point," another fan commented.

Others supported Mixon:

"Hopefully, the players' union has your back on this one," a fan wrote.
"The league as a whole has gone downhill since Goodell took over. In some instances its unwatchable. And legal sports betting is the icing on the cake. Money is not left up to chance. Someone has to control it," another fan commented.

Explaining Joe Mixon's $25,000 fine controversy

According to Will Kunkel of Fox 26 Houston, the NFL fined Joe Mixon for making a comment against the Kansas City Chiefs. The comment for which he was fined for was:

"Why play the game if every 50/50 call goes with Chiefs. These officials are trash and bias."

However, the real problem was that the comment was not made by Mixon. It was uttered by retired NFL wide receiver T.J. Houstonmazadeh.

Mixon did shared his thoughts about the officiating after the divisional playoff matchup last Sunday.

"Everybody know how it is playing up here. You can never leave it into the refs hands. The whole world see, man," Mixon said.

Mixon said he was initially fined for the "50/50" comment which he did not utter. However, the NFL later reissued the fine for the comment he actually made. Mixon has come forward to defend himself, and his agent told Pro Football Network that they would appeal the fine and defend it.
