Rumors about Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen's divorce were true after all, as it was announced on Friday that they have filed for divorce. This comes after months of speculation surrounding the quarterback and his personal life.
After a 40-day retirement, the 45-year-old quarterback returned to the game he has played for over 20 years. He then missed 11 days of training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Although the news was all but inevitable at this point, considering the two appear to be living their lives separately, NFL fans took to Twitter on Friday to express their feelings on the situation.

Many quickly pointed out that the quarterback chose football and a current losing record with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers instead of Bundchen. He and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have now lost three straight games after a 27-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. Brady has now lost three consecutive games for the first time in his career.
Others said that no matter which NFL team you are a fan of, a failed marriage is never a reason to celebrate. Others wished the entire family well in the future.
How long were Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen married?

The two began dating in 2006, shortly after Brady broke up with actress Bridget Moynahan, with whom he shares a son, 15-year-old Jack. Bundchen and Brady got engaged in 2008 and married in February 2009.
It has been previously reported that Bundchen wanted the quarterback to retire from the National Football League and spend more time with their family. He tried for just 40 days and then decided he couldn't stay away from the game and returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In his official statement, Brady stated he and Bundchen would continue to work together to raise their children and wish each other nothing but the best. Brady also noted that it was a difficult decision to end the marriage after over a decade together, noting that others around the world go through the same things on a daily basis.
