Fans react to Travis Kelce’s first look for ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’: “First nepo boyfriend”

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made his "Saturday Night Live" debut last year, and this fall, he will make his debut as a game show host. A few months ago, it was reported that the three-time Super Bowl champion would be hosting a new game show called "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?" a spin of the classic "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" game show.

On Thursday morning, a promo for the new game show was released, giving a sneak peek at the show. "Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?" will debut on Oct. 16 on Prime Video.

The promo has brought a lot of mixed reactions amongst NFL and Taylor Swift fans. The comments on the post on X were split amongst those who loved the idea and were excited and some who criticized Travis Kelce as the host. The term "nepo boyfriend" was used a few times, as some said Kelce only got the position because of his relationship with Swift.

Although the Chiefs tight end has dabbled in hosting in the past, this didn't stop the comments from those who weren't in favor of his hosting gig.

"The first nepo boyfriend? I think so (no hate whatsoever)," a fan said.

While the Super Bowl-winning tight end was the reason some wouldn't be watching the new game show, it was also the celebrity aspect that had some unamused. Some thought that it wouldn't be interesting to watch celebrities test their knowledge on random topics.

"Damn. They’re just giving any hosting jobs now," one person against the idea said.

"Why is Travis Kelce in everything now?" questioned another user on X.

"Everyone is smarter than a celebrity," declared another.

Then, there were fans of both Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, who are now anxiously awaiting the show's debut in October. One fan was even hopeful that Swift may make an appearance as a competitor on the show. Another said they were shocked that the reigning Super Bowl champion had found time to film a game show during his busy offseason, which included lots of travel.

"Where did this man find the time?? He was in Europe most the summer with Taylor and then multiple events," one person noted.

"PRAYING FOR A TAYLOR EPISODE," a hopeful Swift fan said.

"Travis Kelce's part time job.. excited to watch this show," one fan excited to watch said.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift began dating late last summer, and their relationship became well-known during the NFL season. At one game, Swift was seen in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium alongside Kelce's friends, which included WWE star Baron Corbin.

Corbin appeared at WWE's "SummerSlam," and during a media appearance, he was asked about meeting Taylor Swift. He praised Swift and said how 'down to earth' she was. He added that she is very friendly and welcoming, and one would never know how famous she is.

Fans of the couple are excited to see the Grammy-winning singer at Kansas City Chiefs games again this season.
