Ja'Marr Chase entered the Week 17 matchup against the Denver Broncos carrying a lot of expectations. Not only the Cincinnati Bengals are trying to stay alive in the playoff race but several fantasy teams around the world might clinch a championship this week.

Nevertheless, he was off to a rough start against the Broncos, dropping a pass that would have been the Bengals' first touchdown of the night.

It didn't take long for fans, especially fantasy managers, to get on social media and blast the veteran wide receiver.

"never drafting him again," one fan said.
"Fantasy championships are in shambles everywhere. 😂," another fan said.
"In the fantasy championship too,🙃" another fan wrote.

Others criticized Ja'Marr Chase for claiming he's the best but dropping these passes.

"This dude is going to win a triple crown and he can’t catch a football when the seasons on the line. Unreal," one fan said.

The bright side, for the Bengals, is that Tee Higgins scored the team and game's first touchdown, giving Cincinnati the 7-3 lead ahead of halftime. Ja'Marr Chase only recorded two receptions for 20 yards, which could have been more if he secured that ball.

Bengals could be playing last season with Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins

Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are a major reason why the Cincinnati Bengals still have hopes to make it to the NFL playoffs. The wide receiver duo has helped Joe Burrow lead this team to a 7-8 record and the possibility to sneak into the postseason in the final two weeks of the regular season.

Speaking on the possibility of staying in Cincy with Higgins, Chase said he'd prefer to stay with him and Burrow.

“That’s a piece of the offense that would be missing if he (Higgins) does leave, but who knows what they’ll do to replace Tee. Not saying he will leave, but it’ll be a lot going on."
“At the end of the day, I’ve just been with him for this long. We have built chemistry this long, chemistry with Joe, so the chemistry is there already. It’s all about how they want to play it,” he said.

The 2024 offseason will be crucial for Chase, Higgins and the Bengals' future.
