Zac Taylor and the Cincinnati Bengals live to fight another day as they beat the Denver Broncos 30-24 at Paycor Stadium in an overtime thriller to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Bengals had seemingly won the game in regulation but gave up a late touchdown with eight seconds left which sent it to overtime. They had another chance to win the game in the extra period but kicker Cade York missed the game-winning attempt from 33 yards out, keeping the Broncos alive.

After the Bengals defense forced a three-and-out, quarterback Joe Burrow took matters into his hands and found wide receiver Tee Higgins in the endzone to secure the win.

Despite the win, fans analysts, and former players were less than impressed with Zac Taylor's clock management. Late in the fourth quarter, the head coach called aggressively and went for a touchdown despite being in field goal range rather than running the ball, burning time off the clock to leave little to no time for the Broncos to respond.

The decision nearly proved costly as the Broncos scored a touchdown to level the score and send the game to overtime. Taylor's aggressive calling received a lot of flak on social media from former players like Chase Daniel, JJ Watt and Jason Kelce:

Zac Taylor and Bengals' playoff hopes: Cincinnati needs a lot of help

As relieved as Zac Taylor and the Bengals would be about keeping their season alive, they still need several results to go in their favor to earn a postseason berth.

They have to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18, improve to 9-8, and hope the Broncos lose to the Kansas City Chiefs, who'll be fielding their backups as they have already secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

If the Chiefs do them a favor and beat Denver, they'll still have to rely on the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins to lose at least one of their two games. If even one of the four scenarios doesn't pan out, the Bengals won't make the playoffs and their thrilling win over the Broncos will be for nothing.
