The New York Jets are officially under a new regime, as they made Aaron Glenn their next head coach yesterday. One of the most important tasks Glenn has as New York's new coach is figuring out who will be the team's signal-caller for this upcoming season and for the future.

Of course, 41-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still under contract, and whether to keep or release him before the 2025 season will be expensive for the Jets. Glenn and company will have to figure out whether they want Rodgers back in 2025.

Speaking on FS1's "Speak" on Jan. 23, former New York Jets first-overall pick Keyshawn Johnson claimed Glenn won't start his tenure as the Jets' coach with Rodgers as his QB.

"He will not start his career with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback in September," Johnson said. "And if he does, then I’m walking from Calabasas at 4 a.m., in the morning to the studio, the whole walk with you with nothing on but boxers. I’m just letting you know he ain’t going to start his career with that mess. It’s not going to happen. He’s not going to allow somebody to tell him what he’s doing. Don’t put that pressure on that man.”

Aaron Rodgers' future is very up in the air. First, the New York Jets Jets don't even know if they want him back in 2025. At the same time, they find themselves in some cap trouble if they decide to move on from him.

At the same time, Rodgers doesn't know if he wants to play another season in the NFL. After the conclusion of the Jets' season, Rodgers said he needs to figure out if he still has the desire to play or if he can rekindle his love for the game after two disappointing back-to-back seasons with the Jets.

Rodgers said after the regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins:

"I need to figure out if I still have the desire to play or if I can rekindle my love for the game. I’ll go home and relax, but I won’t hold anyone up. Tomorrow, I’ll talk to the team to hear what they think, and then we’ll make a decision before it’s too late in the offseason."

In his career, Rodgers has thrown for over 62,000 yards, 503 touchdowns, and 116 interceptions. He's won a Super Bowl, been named to 10 Pro Bowls, and earned five All-Pro selections. The 20-season veteran is widely viewed as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Do you think Aaron Rodgers will retire this offseason, or do you think he will play another season?
