Micah Parsons isn't one to hide his feelings, whether during postgame interviews or on his podcast. After Dallas' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Parsons insinuated to reporters that Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy should be fired.

On Tuesday morning, three-time Super Bowl champion Shannon Sharpe said on ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption" that he didn't agree with Parsons' comments about his coach. He said that the Cowboys' edge rusher needs to understand that there are consequences for his words and that his comments were offensive to McCarthy.

"See what Micah needs to understand, you're free for your actions," Sharpe said. "You free to say whatever you want to say, but you're not free of consequences. Micah, what you said still offended Mike McCarthy, and then he hides behind all the media trying to get clicks, all the media, trying to get the media, trying to get lights, bro, you said that.
"Be man enough to stand on it. And don't go running and hide behind the media, because there are a lot of people out there that just trust the media. But this was not a media creation. You said what you said because you were frustrated."

Shannon Sharpe's thoughts were about Parsons' postgame interview. On Sunday, Yahoo! Sports' Jori Epstein shared his comments:

"Mike can leave and go wherever he wants," Parsons said. "Guys I kind of feel bad for (are) guys like Zack Martin and guys who might be on their last year or on their way out. Because that's who I wanted to hold the trophy for. You want to win games and do great things with those type of legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did."

Micah Parsons addressed postgame criticism of Mike McCarthy

On Monday's episode of his "The Edge with Micah Parsons" podcast, he discussed his comments about Mike McCarthy's tenure as coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Parsons said that he didn't mean to criticize him.

He added that the question that was posed to him was if he believed McCarthy would be back with the team next season. Micah Parsons then answered that it was "above his pay grade" and he did not want to jeopardize his relationship with his coach.

"So not once did I ever intended or wanted to reflect on Mike McCarthy's career because I always knew it was a good one," Parsons said. "I've always had a great relationship with Mike McCarthy. And I never even put that in question."

The Dallas Cowboys are 3-6 and have lost their last four games. They will be back in action on Monday when they face the Houston Texans.
