Garrett Wilson is, for the third straight time in his career, a 1,000-yard man – and he has also caught a career-high seven touchdowns. However, all this has happened amid the New York Jets' struggles under Aaron Rodgers; and he has definitely heard claims that he is unhappy with his quarterback.
And if he is asked, they are nothing but baseless speculation. Speaking to the media during practice on Wednesday, the former Offensive Rookie of the Year addressed the issue directly for the first time:
“That stuff is just words for people trying to figure out a way to divide us more than they've already tried. Obviously, we’ve got a lot going on here, trying to dig ourselves out of this hole. Unfortunately, we weren't able to. But my feet are where my feet are at, and I’m going to try and finish this thing the right way.”

Barring the activation of his fifth-year option, Wilson is set to become a free agent after the 2025 season. Already, multiple franchises have said to have interest in acquiring him should the Jets (4-12) decide to move on from him regardless of the status of his relationship with Rodgers.
Proposed trade destinations for Jets WR Garrett Wilson
Speaking of trade destinations for Garrett Wilson, Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay has identified five teams who could greatly benefit from having his talents.
First are the New England Patriots. While an intradivisional trade is highly unlikely, the six-time Super Bowl champions have been on the hunt for an elite wideout; and should they clinch the no. 1 overall pick with another loss, they could trade it for the disgruntled jet and give Drake Maye an established deep threat.
Next are the Tennessee Titans, who have been struggling to find quality wideouts ever since Jon Robinson foolishly traded away AJ Brown.
DeAndre Hopkins was decent in his sole full season in Nashville (2023), hitting a thousand yards for the first time since 2020, but he struggled in 2024 and was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs later on. Meanwhile, free agent signing Calvin Ridley has been fairly decent at 61 receptions for 941 yards and four touchdowns; but he is also 30 years old and may not be the long-term positional solution.
Wilson could easily be a key component in an offensive rebuild that may involve a replacement for Will Levis.
Other teams mentioned include the Pittsburgh Steelers (insurance for George Pickens, who has been hurt and inconsistent), Washington Commanders (lack of depth behind Terry McLaurin), and Las Vegas Raiders (need to replace Davante Adams).
