Los Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett is dealing with an injury, and coach Brandon Staley wouldn't give many details about it.

Gerald Everett scored a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs but suffered a quad injury that knocked him out of the game in the fourth quarter.

After the game, however, Brandon Staley clarified that Everett is actually dealing with a hip injury and not a quad injury.

The exact injury and the severity of it have not been announced. But Staley not giving any timeframe could be a concern for Everett and his fantasy owners.

Prior to getting knocked out of the Chargers Week 7 loss, Everett had caught three passes for 26 yards and a touchdown on four targets.

What happened to Gerald Everett?

Gerald Everett suffered a hip injury during the Los Angeles Chargers 31-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Everett was listed as questionable to return but ended up not playing late in the fourth quarter. At the time he left it still was a one-score game so Everett not being able to return is a bit of a concern for the Chargers offense.

When will Gerald Everett return?

As of right now, Gerald Everett has not been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.

Everett's status during practice will be something to monitor. If Everett can get in some practice, it would be a good sign that he can play on Sunday. The Los Angeles Chargers are set to host the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. ET in Week 8.

If Everett can't go in Week 8, Donald Parham Jr. would be Los Angeles' starting tight end. The backups would be Stone Smartt and Tre' McKitty.

This season, Everett has caught 19 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns in six games. Last season, in his first year with the Chargers, he caught 58 passes for 555 yards and four touchdowns.

Los Angeles is currently 2-4 and are third in the AFC West.
