Cam Newton weighed in on Bryce Young's situation in Carolina. After an underwhelming 2023 season, he didn't show much improvement to start this one, getting benched after the Chargers' Week 2 loss.
Newton shared his thoughts regarding the matter on his 4th and 1 show while explaining how the Panthers can place Young in a better position to compete.
"Get that motherf***er some help. Some real help. Offensive line, tight end, running back and defense. Build his confidence. That motherf***er is walking around, playing around like a wounded dog.
"He don't got confidence. He is already smart as it is... But we gotta start holding a lot of people accountable here. I understand that this was not Dan Morgan's pick. Even for the coach, this wasn't his pick. But, this was a move that was approved by David Tapper [Panthers owner].

Newton then noted that he had more weapons available in Carolina than Young.
"When I went to Carolina, I had Jonathan Stewart and D'Angelo Williams. At some capacity, I still had a running game. When I went to Carolina: Jonathan Stewart, D'Angelo Williams, Jeremy Shockey and Greg Olsen. Running backs, tight ends, offensive line and defense."
He then noted how the lack of continuity from Panthers officials has affected other aspects of their organization while stating Young hasn't been given the tools he needs to perform.
What are the Panthers' plans regarding Bryce Young?
Sportskeeda NFL insider Tony Pauline reports that Dan Morgan's role in securing the top 2023 NFL Draft choice plays a big part in Carolina's reluctance to trade Bryce Young. In addition, as Newton said, David Tepper pushed for the team to pick Young last year.
However, the quarterback reportedly wants to leave the organization. This presents a significant issue for the Panthers since their reported asking price for Young is much higher than his market value.
After 14-year veteran Andy Dalton recently helped them defeat the Raiders, perhaps Carolina will soon find a way to part with Bryce Young.
