After the Week 16 clash between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Joe Burrow revealed his unconventional holiday gift to his team's offensive line after sidestepping a controversial request. In a postgame interview, Burrow explained the thought process behind his decision.
“Well, they wanted guns," Burrow said.. "I was like, ‘I don’t know about guns, guys.’ So, I stayed with the weapon mindset.”
The clip of Burrows' response went viral and NFL fans applauded his stance.

"The Real Batman doesn't use guns," a fan tweeted.
"I love this guy!" another fan wrote.
"That's my boy!" another fan said.
Other fans also took to the comments section and shared their opinion.
“See, get you a quarterback that believes in gun control," one fan wrote.
“He’s such an interesting character study. Like hangs out with Nick Bosa and giddily posing with Trump. Yet was willing to risk alienating fans talking about BLM. His Pivot interview was way too short for me because he’s just seems like a fascinating person," another fan said.
Highlighting Burrows' liberal views, another fan chimed in.
“He’s been pretty consistent about his liberal views since before he was even in the NFL though. The only reason he even knows Nick Bosa is because they went to college together. He is a fascinating person but this doesn’t seem that complex to me," the fan commented.
Cincinnati is tightening gun regulations in 2024 to reduce gun violence. Gun owners must report lost or stolen firearms immediately. Failure to do so could result in a fourth-degree misdemeanor and a $750 fine and owners who fail to secure their firearms may face a $200 reprocessing fee if the weapon is stolen.
