Tom Brady is still getting used to life in the broadcasting booth, it would appear. Since trading in his cleats and NFL uniform for a suit and oxfords, Brady has had a roller-coaster year since making his debut for Fox. The good news is that he has a 10-year, $375 million deal with the network which means he has a lot of time to finetune his personality as a broadcaster. The bad news is that Brady's takes have been magnified ten times over, all due to the fact that he is... well... Tom Brady.

During Thursday's Giants-Cowboys game where Brady was in the booth, the subject of the Giants releasing Daniel Jones came up for obvious reasons with Drew Lock lined up under center instead. Brady said on the broadcast:

"I don’t know how that whole situation went down but to think that you’d ask for a release from a team that committed a lot to you is maybe different from how I would’ve handled that.
"I always felt (that) I wanted to get the trust and respect of my teammates regardless of the situation, knowing that I was trying to do the best I could for the team, because that was the most important thing."

Giants legend Tiki Barber didn't take too kindly to Brady's take on the $160 million QB, pointing out that the seven-time Super Bowl champion probably didn't have all his facts to comment on the issue.

On a WFAN show this week, Barber said:

“Do you think he’s having that conversation because he doesn’t do production meetings because he’s not allowed to. If you have any conversation with anyone on the Giants, you’re not saying that.
“I was there when they released him. It was surreal. It was bizarre. I don’t think Tom is privy enough to the information they need to be to have that conversation about Daniel Jones.”

Brady, of course, has been barred from attending production meetings owing to his role as a part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, a move that was made official earlier this year.

Tiki Barber takes issue with outrage against Daniel Jones on scout team

After the Giants demoted Jones to the number four quarterback on the roster, Jones featured on the scout team, acting as a safety in practice. The outrage was near-immediate as fans raised the question of the franchise disrespecting Jones.

However, Barber gave some perspective on why the Giants had Jones play scout:

“All this nonsense I keep hearing about ‘You put him in a disrespectful spot to play scout team’ he wasn’t. He was walking through playing safety. Sometimes the coaches do that. It’s nothing.
“Number two, the reason he asked for his release is they wouldn’t even let him work out! He’s going to sit around for 5-6 weeks and be a potato and do nothing?"
