Brian Daboll was initially perceived as the savior of the New York Giants when he arrived in 2022 amidst an overhaul. He initially appeared to be on his way to realizing that notion, helping them make a shocking run to the Divisional Round.
But since then, it has been a collapse. After extending quarterback Daniel Jones for the long term in the 2023 offseason, they encountered a sack problem, as the offensive line failed to contain pass rushers. He also tore his ACL, ending the first year of his reported contract prematurely.
The Giants' struggles have continued into 2024, aggravated by some poor playcalling. In particular, during Monday night's game at the Pittsburgh Steelers, Daboll drew up this very strange two-point attempt after a Tyrone Tracy Jr. rushing touchdown:

After it predictably failed, there was much anger:

"Why the hell even go for 2??" one demanded.
"Brian daboll may have been fired bc of this," another rued.
"Little league teams can do better," another's ridicule read.
Since then, both teams would exchange field goals, then lost fumbles to out the score at 26-18 in the Steelers' favor.
