Quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending ACL injury in 2023 and earlier this week was medically cleared to practice with his team once again. New York Giants fans, though, aren't very happy with what they are seeing as the quarterback works his way back from the knee injury.
During Friday morning's training camp practice, Jones missed a wide-open throw to wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson. The video of the moment circulated on X as many questioned the quarterback's abilities as the starter.
Fans on social media were quick to share their thoughts on the moment. One fan said they felt "sick" watching the video, and another joked that the quarterback was in "mid season form."

Another fan on X realized that the crowd at training camp seemed disappointed as they had a collective sigh. Other fans just weren't surprised that there was any improvement in the quarterback's performance.
"The utter disappointment you hear in the crowd reaction pretty much describes the Danny Dimes experience since he was drafted," stated one fan.
"Dude is good at being terrible," another fan said.
"Daboll gonna gain 30 lbs back from stress eating cause the qb holding this team back," another fan jokingly predicted.
Jones played in just six games last season before undergoing season-ending ACL repair surgery. The Giants had a 1-5 record in those games and the quarterback threw for just 909 yards and two touchdowns while throwing six touchdowns.
Fans continued to question the New York Giants' decision to start Daniel Jones at quarterback with a few suggesting backup Drew Lock would be a better option.
"High school QBs make that throw more times than not lmao," another user on X said.
"Drew Lock should be the starter," one fan suggested.
"The fact Daniel Jones missed this pass is obviously embarrassing but the fact he couldn’t anticipate Wan’Dale getting this open before pressure got to him isn’t great," another who questioned the quarterback's skills said.
Giants GM's son encouraged him to draft QB as questions about Daniel Jones grow
The New York Giants' offseason was documented for HBO's "Hard Knocks" which has been shown in hour-long segments the last four weeks. During the series, he New York Giants and general manager Joe Schoen contemplated Daniel Jones' future as the starting quarterback and whether they should draft the position in the first-round.
At one point, Joe Schoen's son Carson encouraged him to draft LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels as it may be his only opportunity to win.
"You only get this job once, you should try to win," Schoen's son stated
After months of going back-and-forth, Joe Schoen and the New York Giants ultimately decided to stick with Daniel Jones and draft wide receiver Malik Nabers as an offensive weapon.
