On Monday, New York Giants star rookie WR Malik Nabers gave reporters a headline when questioned about Shedeur Sanders’ recent display of Giants-themed cleats ahead of his final college game. Surprisingly, he responded with a simple, “No comment.”

The stylish cleats, which the Colorado Buffaloes star wore, have given rise to speculation about Sanders’ interest in joining New York through selection via the 2025 NFL Draft.

In 2025, the Giants are the No. 3 pick. The first and the second positions are occupied by Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns. Thus, Sanders' alleged aspirations to join the Giants are now uncertain.

While addressing this concern, the NCAA star said on his podcast:

"I love it. "I've been doing a lot of thinking. What's meant to happen is going to happen. I don't feel like God would put me in a place I'm not supposed to go. We've made it everywhere we've gone and been successful. … I'm happy with the order. Whatever happens happens. [7:55]

While Sanders' pre-game choice of footwear made headlines, he couldn't perform well in his final college game against BYU, which ultimately ended in a 36–14 loss. He scored 208 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Shedeur Sanders' father Deion Sanders snubbed the New York Giants

Shedeur Sanders flaunting Giants-themed cleats ahead of his NFL draft is a far cry from his father, Deion Sanders' 1989 encounter with the Giants, where the former NFL star famously declined their lengthy pre-draft test.

In a candid 2017 NFL Network interview, Sanders chuckled while recalling the moment:

"They sat me down and gave me a thick book. I mean, this thing was thicker than a phone book. I said, ‘What’s this?’ They said, ‘This is our test that we give all the players.’ I said, ‘Excuse me, what pick do you have in the draft?’ They said, I think, 10th [actually 18th]. I said, ‘I’ll be gone before then. I’ll see y’all later. I ain’t got time for this.’ That’s a true story."

For the New York Giants, who have struggled to find stability under center since the Eli Manning era, Shedeur Shedeur makes them hope.
