Jalen Hurts has been blamed for being one of the main reasons for the Philadelphia Eagles' epic collapse last year. They opened the season as the best overall team in the NFL, winning 10 of their first 11 games, before disastrously losing six of their final seven games. This included a first-round exit from the NFL playoffs.
The superstar quarterback recorded multiple touchdown passes in just one of his final seven games and threw five interceptions across the final four weeks. Head coach Nick Sirianni has decided to address this situation by hiring Kellen Moore as their offensive coordinator.
On Friday, former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress said on "The Carton Show" that he disagrees with their strategy to bring in Moore.
Burress said:

"I'll be honest, I really don't like it. I think Nick Sirianni is in panic mode. They went to the Super Bowl two years ago and they lost to Kansas City. And then, you insert a brand new offense, which Jalen Hurts was just learning to perfect. And as a quarterback, you want to be in an offense where it's as close to breathing, it's like second nature, you don't even think about it.
"I equate it to Jalen Hurts being hurt more than anything, and obviously, the Eagles couldn't stop the run. And I don't think Kellen Moore is the answer. Nick Sirianni is in panic mode, so he brings in Kellen Moore."
Burress seems to believe changing offensive coordinators was unnecessary. According to him, the Eagles' collapse was related to Hurts' fitness. He also pointed out that the Eagles could hinder Hurts' progress by changing his offensive coordinator and forcing him to learn a new system.
Jalen Hurts' offensive coordinators with Eagles
Entering just his fourth year as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts is already seeing a third offensive coordinator. His first two seasons featured Shane Steichen in the position before he was eventually hired to be the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
The Eagles replaced Steichen last year with Brian Johnson, who spent just one season in the role. Hurts' third offensive coordinator will be Kellen Moore beginning in the 2024 NFL season. Moore previously spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers and now heads to Philadelphia.
