"Going be hard to say Travis Kelce isn’t the GOAT" - Shannon Sharpe claims Chiefs star will be greatest TE in NFL history

Travis Kelce's virtuoso performance left no doubt in Shannon Sharpe's mind that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is on his way to becoming the greatest TE in NFL history.

After tonight's performance against the Los Angeles Chargers, few would be able to challenge the assertion.

Travis Kelce was that good throughout the game and once again came up clutch in the end.

He was a one-man destruction machine that resigned the Chargers to another defeat against their division rivals. He had 115 yards on just six receptions, three of which he converted for touchdowns. The very last of those touchdowns was the go-ahead score with just 31 seconds remaining.

Until that point, the Chiefs had not led the game for any quarter but had just managed to sneak ahead in the fourth.

Yet when Justin Herbert threw for a touchdown pass to retake a 27-23 lead with just 1:46 remaining, many thought that the Chiefs were done. But Travis Kelce had other ideas as they emerged victorious 30-27.

Shannon Sharpe knows a good tight end when he sees one, considering he is a Hall of Famer who made it to seven Pro Bowls as part of the Denver Broncos and won two Super Bowls playing as a tight end.

He then went to the Baltimore Ravens for a couple of seasons, made it to another Pro Bowl and won another Super Bowl with them. When he retired, he had 815 receptions and 62 touchdowns, the highest by a tight end. He was also the first one to break the 10,000-yard barrier for a tight end, retiring with 10,060 yards.

Travis Kelce had already tied Shannon Sharpe with 62 touchdowns before this game and surpassed him with three more today. He is already at 9,746 yards and there is no doubt that he will overtake Sharpe there soon as well.

He has already won one Super Bowl and made it to seven Pro Bowls. Another selection, which looks likely this year, will put Travis Kelce equal in the Pro Bowl count with Shannon Sharpe.

Kelce is only 33 years old, so he has the chance to win a couple more Super Bowls as well, including this year.

There will be others who will dispute this judgment, but Sharpe is as well positioned as anyone to say who the greatest tight end of all time is.

It shows the greatness Kelce has already achieved, even though there might still be some time to go.
