After shifting the funds on De'Vondre Campbell's deal, the Green Bay Packers have nearly ended their yearly contractual adjustments.
According to Field Yates of ESPN.com, the Packers reduced Campbell's base pay to the league minimum and turned the $285,000 shortfall from his $3 million roster bonus into a signing bonus. By doing that, the team was able to add $2.628 in cap space.
The Packers also changed the terms of left tackle David Bakhtiari's deal, turning a significant amount of his 2023 base salary into a $15.035 million signing bonus.

The reorganization did not result in the inclusion of any more vacant years for the Packers. With vacant years, the team might have reduced the pay amount for the following year by as much as $12 million. Rather, the adjustment allowed the Packers to free up nearly $7.5 million in salary cap space.
The Packers have almost $24 million in salary cap room, which places them tenth out of 32 NFL teams, according to Over the Cap. Furthermore, they make up one of just 13 franchises with a minimum of $20 million in available space.
Currently, part of the Packers' cap space is reserved for bringing in players from the 2023 draft class and an in-season budget that covers compensating the practice squad.
By renegotiating more contracts, the Green Bay Packers could further increase their cap room.
Aaron Rodgers has confirmed he wants to leave Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers reiterated his desire to keep on playing in the league but added that "the Packers would prefer to move on" during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
"They have communicated that to me in several words. They have expressed that clearly to others. I want to play in New York because I still have that fire inside me to play," he continued.
It's not as easy as it seems to trade Rodgers to the New York Jets, though. The Packers reportedly want a lot for him, beyond what the Jets are willing to give. According to numerous sources, the Green Bay Packers are demanding more than just a first-round selection as part of the base agreement.
The Packers offered Rodgers the richest contract in league history when they extended his contract for three more years in 2022 at a cost of $150 million. The Packers have to identify a team capable of taking on the cap hit from Rodgers' $58.3 million option bonus for the 2023 season, as he's slated to earn another $59.4 million guaranteed pay next campaign.
