For Tank Dell, what was supposed to be remembered as a great moment turned into his biggest nightmare of the 2024 season. The Houston Texans wide receiver made an impressive touchdown grab against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16, but right after making the catch, it was clear that something was off.
Dell fell to the ground holding his left knee, and there was no celebration for him as his teammates started to gather around him. It seemed to be a serious left knee injury, and the wide receiver even had the ambulance out as he was taken to a local hospital around Kansas City.
NFL fans were extremely sad to see the young wide receiver suffering a serious injury so late in the season, especially with the playoffs around. It's worth remembering that he also did not play in the 2023 playoffs due to another serious injury:

"People are gonna have a problem with it, but CJ Stroud caring that much about Tank Dell is what I want out of a QB", said one fan.
"I hope Tank Dell recovers well man. I’m so gutted for him", a second fan said.
"Yeah seeing CJ cry for Tank made me teary-eyed, not gonna lie" a third fan tweeted.
Tank Dell's 2024 stats: second straight year with a season-ending injury for the wide receiver
A year ago, during Week 13, the wide receiver collided with a teammate and suffered a season-ending injury. He recovered from a fractured fibula during the offseason, finishing the year with 709 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, never a bad thing for a rookie wide receiver.
This year, if the fears about Dell's injury being season-ending are true, he'll add more 569 receiving yards and two touchdowns to his numbers. But both years will finish with a feeling of what could've been, especially as he will be away from both playoff games.
Another thing to remember is that Dell will be the second wide receiver from the Texans to suffer a season-ending injury in 2024, as Stefon Diggs was also lost for the year. Nico Collins got hurt midway through the season, but he recovered after a stint on the injured reserve.
