Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens have an important task on Christmas day. After Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, they're now tied for the AFC North with a 10-5 record and two games to go in the regular season.

Winning the division would make a huge difference for both teams in the playoff picture. Apart from starting their playoff journey at home, they would also avoid the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the playoffs. Even as they have locked up their playoff spots, the run for the crown is totally massive.

That's why Shannon Sharpe is worried about Lamar Jackson. The quarterback stated that he'll miss the halftime prep talk with the team to watch Beyonce's show, but Sharpe thinks that, as the leader of the team, Lamar should not distract himself with these kinds of things:

“With the money that he makes, I think he understands that he’s the leader of the team and the last thing you want is him out there and the whole team out there… let’s stay focused.”

Beyonce is set to perform during the halftime of Wednesday's second game, when the Ravens play the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. The NFL usually don't host Wednesday games, but the league changed its schedule to accommodate two matches during Christmas Day.

Lamar Jackson is firmly in the MVP race

With two weeks to go, the odds are shifted in Josh Allen's favor. The Buffalo Bills quarterback is having an impressive season, leading his team to a 12-3 record and winning games against strong teams with excellent performances.

However, Lamar Jackson is also in the fight. The passing stats for the Ravens quarterback are extremely impressive. He has 67.9% of completed passes, 3,787 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and just four interceptions in 2024.

One of the things that could count against Jackson in his quest for the MVP is the fact that he has already won the award twice, in 2019 and 2022. Allen, although recognized as one of the NFL's greatest quarterbacks for the entire decade, still hasn't won the MVP award.
