Former NFL defensive tackle Aaron Donald retired from the NFL following the 2023 season and there's no doubt he has a spot reserved for him in Canton very soon.

Donald was unarguably the best defensive tackle in NFL history. Donald is a Super Bowl champion, 10-time Pro Bowler, eight-time First-Team All-Pro, and was named Defensive Player of the Year three times in his career.

While Donald is no longer playing, he thinks Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carer could be the next coming of him. According to former NFL running back LeSean McCoy of Fox Sports, Donald told him that he thinks Carter is his "replacement."

"I had a chance to talk to Aaron Donald yesterday, one of my good friends, one of my best friends. You know what he said? He said, 'Shady, I've been watching football like that in a long time, he said that guy Jalen Carter bro, my replacement is here."

Carter was Philadelphia's first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft as he was selected ninth overall. As a rookie, he registered 33 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one defensive touchdown.

This season, Carter registered 42 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He also has two sacks, two tackles for a loss, and seven tackles in two playoff games. For his efforts, he was named a Pro Bowler and Second-Team All-Pro this season.

Carter isn't on an Aaron-Donald kind of level yet, but, he has shown flashes of being a great defensive tackle.

This Sunday, the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles will face one another for a third time this season. The winner of Sunday's game will advance to the Super Bowl.

As his team prepares to go against Jalen Carter and the Eagles' defense, Commanders' offensive coordinator Klif Kingsbury praised Carter for being one of the most dominant players in the league.

Kingsbury said:

“He’s one of the most dominant players in the league, if not the most dominant that I’ve seen,. He can wreck a game by himself. They’re good enough up front to rush four and get pressure as they’ve shown throughout the year, but that guy’s really come on."
"I have a ton of respect for how he plays the game. Whether they’re up, down, whatever. He’s playing hard, he’s getting his wins. He’s changed that entire defense with his style of play.”

The Eagles beat the Commanders in their first matchup of the season on Nov. 14 26-18. The Commanders took round two on Dec. 22 with a 36-33 victory.

As of right now on ESPN.com, the Eagles are six-point home favorites. Who do you have winning this Sunday?
