The Kansas City Chiefs were able to secure a 32-29 home win in the AFC Championship Game over the Buffalo Bills to advance to the Super Bowl. This is the fourth time that Bills quarterback Josh Allen has lost in the postseason to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

It's the first time a quarterback has gone 0-4 in the postseason against a contemporary.

There have been people pinning the loss on Josh Allen, but Columbia Hall of Famer and broadcaster Marcellus Wiley does not blame Allen for the loss in the AFC Championship Game.

"You gought 17!" Wiley wrote on X. "Gave your team the chance. Had adversity in the first half & kept pushing. Did everything you had to in the 2nd half to earn extra minutes. That's the way it goes when it's good on good. This ain't on you, you showed up in the most important moments @JoshAllenQB! #BillsMafia"

Marcellus Wiley has a connection to the Buffalo Bills as they drafted him in the second round (52nd overall) in the 1997 NFL draft as a defensive end. He would play four of his 10 seasons with the team.

Josh Allen would finish the AFC Championship game completing 22-of-34 (64.7%) of his passes for 237 yards with two touchdowns. He also ran 11 times for 39 yards (3.5 yards per carry) against the Chiefs.

What is next for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills?

The Buffalo Bills continue to find themselves coming up short as they failed to make the Super Bowl. The Bills need to get a massive wide receiver, as they thought Amari Cooper would be when they acquired him from the Cleveland Browns at the NFL Trade Deadline.

This year's crop of NFL free agents has a lot of names that the Bills can target. It is likely that a reunion with Stefon Diggs is off the table but the following wide receivers are no longer under contract and could become the top wide receiver for Josh Allen.

  • Tee Higgins
  • Keenan Allen
  • Amari Cooper
  • Chris Godwin
  • Brandin Cooks
  • Diontae Johnson
  • DeAndre Hopkins

This seemingly is one of the Buffalo Bills' biggest needs entering the offseason as Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper are both unrestricted free agents. The team needs a top receiver to pair with Keon Coleman, who will be entering his second season in the league, and help Josh Allen have more weapons to get the football to.
