Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been in the news for all the wrong reasons this week. He seemingly appeared to quit on his team in a 32-20 loss to Aaron Rodgers' New York Jets on Sunday in what was their regular season finale. That loss threw the Dolphins out of playoffs contention.

In what was ane eerily similar stunt to the one Antonio Brown had pulled when he was with Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers (ironically, that was also at MetLife Stadium), Hill refused to take the field in the fourth quarter and publicly said that he was done with the team after the game.

Tyreek Hill's agent Drew Rosenhaus tried to do some damage control on The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday by saying that his client played most of the season with a wrist injury. Rosenhaus said:

“The doctors all said ‘It’s going to be painful. It could impact your entire career. If you don’t get it done now, you may not be able to fix it all the way.’ “Tyreek said: ‘Hey, to heck with it. I’m a team guy, I’m going for it.'”

However, Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe refused to buy Rosenhaus's words. On the Nightcap Show with Chad Ochocinco, Sharpe raised suspicion at the timing of Rosenhaus's statement:

“If we are to believe what Mike McDaniel said. He asked Tyreek to go in the game in the fourth quarter. It was brought to Mike McDaniel it’s not a new injury. I’ve said this before. It’s no different to what (Antonio Brown) did in that very stadium.
"Then to make matters worse, this man changed his profile picture and put his face on AB. If Tyreek makes the Pro Bowl and gets 1,400 yards, do we hear anything about his wrist?”

Sharpe added that he couldn't tell if Hill's wrist was hurt at any point in the season. Interestingly, Tyreek Hill had one of the least productive seasons of his career this year.

He had just 959 yards, his fewest since the 860 yards he racked up in 12 games with Kansas City in 2019 owing to injuries. Hill's total of 81 catches are also the fewest he has hauled in since 2019 (58).

Where do Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins go from here?

Dolphins GM Chris Grier and coach Mike McDaniel have had conversations with Hill since the incident. The pair told the media that Hill accepted responsibility for the same but also made peace with the fact that the franchise won't tolerate another tantrum like that.

As things stand, Tyreek Hill will likely be back with Miami next season, but multiple teams will likely make an offer if Hill is made available for a trade.
