Robert Saleh was relieved of his duties as head coach of the New York Jets after a 2-3 start to the 2024 season. Saleh took over as NY's head coach prior to the 2021 NFL season.
Saleh placed last in the AFC East in his first two seasons and placed third last season with a 7-10 record. He went 20-36 in his tenure as New York's head coach.
Despite being fired during the 2024 season, Saleh has been gaining coaching interest in this offseason's coaching carousel. He has interviews for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders head coaching vacancies as well as an interview with the San Francisco 49ers for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Upon hearing about Saleh's upcoming opportunities, fans had mixed reactions all over social media. Some fans are looking past his stint with the Jets, stating you can't judge his coaching performance off being with that franchise.
Some X users believe Saleh could thrive if given another opportunity elsewhere.
Here's how fans reacted:
"Which ever team gets him is lucky, hell of a coach," a fan wrote.
"That would be a great spot for him. Love that guy," a fan said.
"Glad he’s getting another opportunity," another fan said.
While some fans think Robert Saleh deserves another coaching chance, some don't feel the same way. Some, have the opposite opinion about his tenure with the Jets and don't think he'll do well as a head coach in 2025.
Some users have suggested that he would be a good defensive coordinator in 2025.
Here's how other fans reacted:
"As a Raiders fan I'll pass on him being the HC. Especially with him coming off that horrible tenure as the Jets HC. Wouldn't mind him being the D Coordinator though," a fan wrote.
"As a Raider fan hard noooo...but a great Dc," another fan said.
"It is shocking to me that people really think Saleh is a good HC candidate. The #Jets were completely undisciplined and unprepared under him. We can be mad at Woody for a lot but Saleh was objectively bad as a HC. God speed," one fan wrote.
Tom Brady and the Raiders reached out to Bill Belichick to see if he was interested in coaching in the NFL again
Shortly after news came out about the Las Vegas Raiders firing Antonio Pierce after his lone season as head coach, a report came out that the Raiders reached out to Bill Belichick to gague his interest in him coaching in the NFL again.
NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero tweeted:
"Multiple NFL teams have inquired about whether legendary coach Bill Belichick would reconsider his move to college football – including the Raiders, whose new minority owner Tom Brady spoke recently with his old coach, per league sources."
UNC GM Michael Lombardi joined the "Pat McAfee Show" on Thursday and said rumors of Belichick having interest in coaching in the NFL again were false and that he's fully committed to UNC.
Belichick signed a five-year deal with UNC in December to be their next head coach after taking last year off from coaching.
