Lamar Jackson is seen as the next big-time quarterback in the National Football League. Since arriving in the NFL, he has taken the league by storm, using both his arm and his legs to lead the Baltimore Ravens to success.

It appears that even quarterback Tom Brady feels that Jackson is the next great quarterback in the league.

When he announced what would end up being a brief retirement, Brady tagged a photo of Jackson and said, "You're next." The 25-year-old reposted it, as he saw it as a compliment. Since Brady un-retired just a little over a month later, he's not so sure anymore.

Before the Ravens faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night, Jackson told Taylor Rooks that he was kind of mad that he re-posted Brady's message. Jackson jokingly said that he thought Brady meant he was next to win a Super Bowl, but since Brady is still playing, he's unsure now.

“He was saying I’m next to be one of the GOATs. Hopefully, Super bowl-winning QB. That’s what I took from it. But he didn’t retire so I was mad I reposted it”

The Ravens' 27-22 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the second consecutive time that Jackson has defeated Tom Brady. The last time was in 2019 when Brady was still with the New England Patriots.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson walked off the field at Raymond James Stadium on Thursday night after a win over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a slow start to the game for the Ravens, they were able to dominate the Bucs in the second half with their famous running game.

The quarterback spotted a sign that read, "Pay 'Em Now," that fell right in front of him. He retreated back out the tunnel and found the fan and autographed it for him, no doubt agreeing with the fan that he wants to be paid handsomely by the Ravens.

Lamar Jackson spent the entire offseason trying to negotiate a contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens, but to no avail. Since he doesn't have an agent representing him, Jackson negotiated directly with the team.

He gave himself and the team a deadline to get an extension completed before the season began. Since they couldn't come to an agreement, he will now wait until the 2022 NFL season is over to negotiate a possible deal.

Lamar Jackson is rumored to be looking for a fully guaranteed deal, similiar to that of the Cleveland Browns' Deshaun Watson. Without a deal, he will now take the same approach as New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and bet on himself this season.

Through the first eight games of the season, the Ravens are 5-3 and in control of first place in the AFC North. He has thrown for 1,635 yards and 15 passing touchdowns with an impressive QB rating of 94.2. He also has 553 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.
