Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles are heading to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years following their 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders in the NFC championship game on Sunday.

The game was close until late in the second quarter. However, after a sensational fourth down conversion, Philadelphia outscored Washington 41-11 and booked its Super Bowl berth.

Hurts had his best outing of the season as he completed 20 of his 28 pass attempts for 246 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 16 yards and an astonishing three touchdowns on 10 carries. He'll become the first Eagles quarterback to start in two Super Bowls.

Despite his historic performance, some fans on social media weren't too impressed. They pointed out that two of his three touchdowns were from a yard out, and he's blessed with one of the league's best offensive lines and an explosive receiving unit.

Several fans took exception to a post congratulating Hurts on becoming the all-time leader in postseason touchdowns by a quarterback:

"Stop.. (Hurts' QB sneaks) aren't real rushes," @MonacoFreedom posted.
"Not a true record," @Unstablesportz wrote.
"Tush push is ruining NFL records," @BetaTurtle21 argued.

Jalen Hurts unbothered by critics

While the criticism about his stats and his penchant for padding his rushing touchdown numbers with the 'Brotherly Shove' has been loud throughout the season, Jalen Hurts isn't paying any credence to it.

In his post-game press conference, the Eagles quarterback claimed he's only concerned with leading the team to victory and will resort to any means necessary to do it:

"I don't play the game for stats.I don't play the game for numbers or any statistical approval from anybody else. I know everyone has a preconceived notion for how it's supposed to look... What I define [success] sas is winning. The No. 1 goal is to come out and win."

Hurts will now get the opportunity to become only the second quarterback after Nick Foles to lead Philadelphia to a Super Bowl win. He'll also get the opportunity to avenge the Eagles' loss to the Chiefs in 2023 and win a ring.
