Aaron Rodgers has had a troubled two years with the New York Jets. During his first season, the former Green Bay Packers player tore his Achilles tendon which caused him to miss the entire 2023 season. Then, when he returned in 2024, despite the Jets firing coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas and signing veteran wideout Davante Adams, Rodgers failed to turn around the Jets' fortunes. This is now their 14th year of playoff drought.

The four-time NFL MVP has said that he goes to darkness retreats and participates in ayahuasca retreats to deal with the stress in his life. However, on Wednesday he said that he would not be doing so after the current season ends.

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) mocked Rodgers for his decision. One fan said that the 41-year-old should instead retire from the NFL.

Another fan said that all his darkness retreats didn't help improve his performance on the field, so it's best that he's giving them up this offseason.

"It didn’t work last year. Probably a good idea."

Other fans also joined in and slammed Rodgers.

"He realized that his season was dark enough," one fan joked.
"Rodgers needs to move on! His legacy has taken a beating the last 2 years," another fan urged.
"Man need to actually train to be a real QB this offseason," one fan remarked.
"The whole szn was a f**kin darkness retreat," another fan said.

"Enigma" docuseries reveals never-heard-before aspects of Aaron Rodgers' life

In the docuseries "Enigma," Aaron Rodgers talked about his strained relationship with his family, especially his brother. He revealed that the rift began in high school when he began to feel a widening chasm between him and his family.

"It wasn’t like I was super duper close with everybody in the family," Rodgers said. "I was close with my little brother. But in actuality, it goes back to stuff from high school that kind of made me feel distant. Stuff in college, stuff post-college. I thought the best way to do it was just don’t talk about it publicly."

He also spoke about his unconventional experiments with psychedelics and his darkness retreats and that they also helped him stay anchored and make better decisions not just on the gridiron, but off the field as well.

With the Jets' offseason just around the corner, will the struggling QB decide to call it a day or will Aaron Rodgers continue to try to help the Jets?
