Former Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer lauded praise on the new head coach of the team. Mike Vrabel has officially joined the team as the head coach in 2025.
The team had previously worked under the guidance of Jerod Mayo. However, the Patriots team owner Robert Kraft fired him following the disappointing performance of the team in the 2024 NFL season.
New England Patriots has finally hired their new coach, Mike Vrabel. On Wednesday's episode of "The Quick Snap," former Patriots QB Brian Hoyer reflected on his opinion on the new hiring. He shared his excitement while describing the confident aura of Vrabel. The American NFL player said the new head coach of the Patriots "exudes confidence". Hoyer said:
"I went to Houston to be the quarterback down there, and he's the linebackers coach. And he had just coached at Ohio State for like a year or two, and then he came there, and this dude still had the passion of a player as a coach. And no one talked more sh-t from the defensive side of the ball during practice than Vrabel.

"And I remember at one point being like, "Vrabes, you're not playing anymore, like, let these guys sh-t talk us, like, during training camp." He's an Alpha Dog. And I think everybody saw that in his press conference. He exudes confidence. He exudes, you know, a well-versed knowledge of the game," he added.
Brian Hoyer recently played for the New England Patriots from 2020 to 2022 before moving to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023. However, in 2024, he was released by the Raiders.
He had three stints with the Patriots after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2009. The first run ended in 2011 and he returned in 2017.
Patriots' new coach Mike Vrabel shares his excitement to work with the team
Mike Vrabel played for the New England Patriots from 2001 to 2008 and was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame in 2023. Intriguingly, just 15 months after the renowned award, he is now joining the team as the head coach.
During the press conference on Monday, he reflected on his excitement to start a new journey with the team. Vrabel said (via NFL):
"I want to galvanize our football team. I want to galvanize this building. I want to galvanize our fans. The most important thing are the players. There are some of them right here. I want to provide a program that provides their ownership but also their accountability of each other and one they'll be proud to be a part of and that they're gonna fight for."
Mike Vrabel served as the coaching and personal consultant for the Cleveland Browns in 2024. He was previously the head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023. He was also awarded the NFL Coach of the Year in 2021.
