NFL fans blasted New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers after the veteran missed a pass aimed at star wide receiver Davante Adams. On 1st & 10 with 3:57 on the clock in the first quarter in Sunday's game, he faked a rushing play before turning to his right to look for Adams.

The former Las Vegas Raiders receiver had a little separation from his defender, but Rodgers' pass wasn't good and went out of bounds, giving the Jets the second down and the same 10 yards. Fans were quick to criticize Rodgers, going on X (formerly Twitter) to mock the four-time NFL MVP.

Several fans started to call Aaron Rodgers "washed" after that throw.

"Leave the game before the game leaves you," one fan said.
"He’s washed now," another fan said.
"He fr might be washed," another fan wrote.

Others joked about who Rodgers would blame for that bad throw.

"Somehow to Rodgers this was adams fault," one fan wrote.

This wasn't the end of this drive, fortunately, as the offense kept going. Rodgers kept connecting with Adams until they reached the red zone.

Once they were there, Rodgers threw a two-yard pass to Tyler Conklin for the Jets' first touchdown of the day. Unfortunately, Greg Zuerlein's extra point attempt wasn't successful and the Patriots finished the first quarter up 7-6.

Aaron Rodgers, Jets trying to win for the first time since Week 3

This game became more important for the New York Jets after their 37-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. The team has dropped four consecutive games since Week 3, including losses to the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills.

Aaron Rodgers hasn't been able to get the offense going and the Jets have been unable to break the 20-point barrier in each of these games. The last time they won a game and scored more than 20 points was against today's opponent, the New England Patriots.

That day, Rodgers completed 27 of 35 pass attempts for 281 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. He was sacked twice, but his team dominated the Patriots and scored a touchdown in all but one quarter.

This team has changed a lot since that game. Robert Saleh is gone, Nathaniel Hackett isn't calling plays on offense and Davante Adams landed from Las Vegas. They have reasons to panic right now, but a win against the Patriots could be the start of a positive run.
