Former NFL running back and Pittsburgh Steelers legend Jerome Bettis sent a clear message about Donald Trump. The Former U.S. President attended Sunday night's game between the Steelers and the Jets, polarizing fans and even former players.

Hours before the Republican party nominee arrived at Acrisure Stadium, Bettis took to Instagram on Sunday to share a video statement criticizing Trump and expressing his support for Kamala Harris.

"Hey, everyone. It's Jerome Bettis here. I spent 13 seasons in the NFL ... brought the Super Bowl home to Pittsburgh. I know this city and I love this city. We work hard to make things happen. No hot air. No bull. This is what defines the Steel City – and it’s the opposite of what Donald Trump stands for," Bettis said in the video.
"Donald Trump has made promise after promise to the city of Pittsburgh, and time after time, he’s failed to deliver."

Bettis said that Trump wasn't what he used to be and claimed that he wouldn't do what the other candidate, Harris, would.

"And I don't know if you've seen him lately. Rambling, confused, falling to sleep. He's washed up and it's time for Trump to hang it up. And it’s time for us to elect a leader who’s gonna fight for us. Someone who’s gonna roll up their sleeves and get the job done. Not just complain about it at a half-empty venue. There’s only one person in this race who fits that bill: Vice President Kamala Harris."

The 2024 Presidential Election is getting closer by the day and everyone is trying to move the needle for their preferred candidate. During his trip to Pittsburgh, Trump attempted to make an impact by sharing an AI image of himself wearing a Steelers uniform.

Former Steelers stars divided over Donald Trump's candidacy

The Pittsburgh Steelers players were prominently linked to Donald Trump over the weekend, starting with Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown attending his rally on Saturday. Brown talked to the crowd and expressed his support for the former president.

On the other side, Joe Greene and the family of late Franco Harris joined Jerome Bettis to share similar messages in support of Kamala Harris. The Harris family shared a statement saying that the late running back 'would be greatly honored' to support the Vice President.
