Tom Brady broke another record after signing a mammoth contract with Fox Sports worth $375 million for 10 years to become their lead analyst and commentator. However, this huge payday for him comes at a cost to fellow Fox Sports analyst Greg Olsen.
The former tight end started his broadcasting career in 2021, the same year he retired. Olsen was paid a $10 million annual salary before the arrival of Tom Brady. Now Olsen has taken a significant pay cut, netting only $3 million, as per The Athletic.
However, some NFL fans cheered on this decision, given that there have been calls for his ouster for some time now. Some were excited about the pay-cut news.

One fan summed up his feelings towards the former Carolina Panthers TE in two words.
“He sucked”, wrote the fan.
However, one fan suggested Olsen take another former QB’s broadcasting job. That being Tony Romo’s at CBS. Romo has been in broadcasting since he retired from the Dallas Cowboys in 2016.
“He should go take Romo’s job tbh”, wrote a fan.
"Damn. Olsen should have at least got to roast Brady then," one fan wrote.
"Tom spent his entire career taking pay cuts, pretty cool that Greg did that for Tom #teamplayer," another added.
And some fans thought about the peculiar nature of this entire ordeal, as Brady automatically gets slotted into the No. 1 analyst role.
“Imagine taking a pay cut for someone to take your job who has never done it before.”, wrote a fan on X (previously Twitter).
While some fans understand the harsh reality of business, the eyeballs that Tom Brady will generate have to be compensated.
“The GOAT effect I guess”, wrote the fan on X.
Tom Brady is ready for the obstacles
The first game Fox Sports will be broadcasting this season will be the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Chicago Bears. Ahead of his broadcast debut, Tom Brady said he understands the difficulties that this game will present to him.
“Obviously having the Cowboys on is a huge draw," said Brady. "As America’s Team, that’s gonna get a little hard for me to say that all the time.”
NFL fans will be tuning in on September 8 to listen to the analysis of seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady.
